LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN
Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. He was born on 17th of December 1770 at Bonn, Germany. He also died at the age of 56, March 26, 1827 at Vienna, Austria.
Beethoven remains one of the most admired composers in the history of Western music; his works rank amongst the most performed of the classical music repertoire. His works span the transition from the classical period to the romantic era in classical music.
His career has conventionally been divided into early, middle, and late periods. The "early" period, during which he forged his craft, is typically considered to have lasted until 1802. From 1802 to around 1812, his "middle" period showed an individual development from the "classical" styles of Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and is sometimes characterized as "heroic".
During this time, he began to suffer increasingly from deafness. In his "late" period from 1812 to his death in 1827, he extended his innovations in musical form and expression.
FUR ELISE
I chose Fur Elise because before when I was still a kid I always hear this anywhere like on games for example, piano tiles and also on phone calls when the call is on hold. This was also the reason why I knew Ludwig van Beethoven because I really this composition. For me, I like the melody and the way how it was played it sounded creepy but more like a serenade to someone, and I was right.
Based on my research, the song is thought to be written for Therese, a woman that Beethoven wanted to marry in 1810, however his handwriting was misspelt undergoing transcription, allowing the piece to be known as Fur Elise rather the Fur Therese. Therese did not want to marry him. Funny to know that Therese doesn't wanna marry Beethoven because of the misspelt.
THERESE MALFATTI
Therese Malfatti was an Austrian musician and a close friend of Ludwig van Beethoven. She was born on January 1, 1792 and died on the age of 59 in April 27, 1851. She is best known as one of the possible dedicatees of Beethoven's famous bagatelle, Fur Elise.
